Manufacturing / Petro-Chemical

  • Implemented a document approval and publishing system to support an energy pipeline's business process and policy change management project.
  • For a major oil & gas exploration company, delivered an imaging and work management application on a turn-key basis, providing technology and consulting services including: business analysis, technical design & development, implementation, change management, and project management. The solution manages over $2.5 billion dollars annually in documents and work tasks. 250 users access the solution through either a richly featured Windows-based application, or an easy to use web browser front end, depending on their needs and frequency of access.
  • Designed and implemented a document control system for a pharmaceutical manufacturing company to support policy and procedure management required for ISO9001, Health Canada, and US Food & Drug Administration compliance.
  • Implementation of a contracts management system for an upstream oil & gas exploration company.
  • Developed a Strategic Information Management Plan for a large integrated forestry company. The project had as its deliverables: analysis of business opportunity & benefit potential; process analysis in several departments; analysis of document and records requirements; evaluation of various competing technologies; recommendations and work plan for implementation.
  • Provided a web-content management and publishing solution, integrating a corporate document management system with a fully automated, template-based, web page production / formatting solution technology. Users merely author documents in their word processing tool of choice, and documents are automatically formatted and published as appealing looking web pages with a consistent look and feel. The solution supports the distribution of occupational safety and health material for a petrochemical company.
  • Managed a package evaluation and selection process for a petro-chemical company. Concerta performed an objective and detailed analysis of enterprise imaging, document management and workflow technologies, mapping the capabilities of the reviewed technologies, and their vendors, against defined business requirements. Using our experiences, real-world weightings were applied to the requirements in order to properly rank the various proposals, and provide the client with the tools they required to make sound purchase decisions.
  • Implemented a fully integrated physical records and electronic document management system for a national industry association. The solution is also a foundation for a custom intranet & extranet-based content publishing application for the dissemination of information to association member companies and individuals.
  • For a western Canadian forest products producer, provided a turn-key accounts payable imaging and workflow management system. Our consultants analysed and documented the existing business processes of the organization, providing recommendations to management for consideration of process streamlining. The solution made it possible for the organization to support a geographically dispersed workforce, and as well allowed the company to outsource certain operations to third parties who now also participate in the workflow process. Local and remote users access the solution using thin clients provided by Citrix / Windows Terminal Server, and the entire system is tightly integrated with the client's UNIX-based financials application.
